Role Description The Area Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, MO, responsible for overseeing janitorial and facility services across multiple customer locations. This role includes managing and scheduling cleaning teams, ensuring adherence to company standards, and verifying that all areas meet safety, cleanliness, and regulatory requirements. The Area Supervisor conducts regular site inspections, addresses customer concerns, and coordinates resources, supplies, and equipment to meet contract specifications. The position also involves training team members, monitoring performance, and communicating daily with clients and internal leadership to resolve issues and improve service. The Area Supervisor documents activities, prepares basic reports, and supports continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Supervisory and leadership skills, including team coordination, performance management, and staff training in a service or facilities environment.
- Ability to travel locally to various accounts as well as up to 25% non-local travel.
- Operational and organizational skills, such as scheduling, time management, prioritizing tasks, and overseeing multiple sites or accounts.
- Customer service and communication skills, including professional interaction with clients, conflict resolution, and clear verbal and written communication.
- Facility and janitorial operations knowledge, including cleaning procedures, safety practices, and familiarity with equipment, supplies, and quality standards.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on meeting service-level expectations and contract requirements.
- Basic computer skills for email, reporting, and using scheduling or facility management systems.
- Ability to work on-site, travel between customer locations in the Kansas City, MO area, and perform occasional physical tasks related to inspections and support.
