• Follow process routers, work instructions, set-up sheets and other instructions to determine the processing required to produce lab specimens which achieve the requested test results from the material submitted.

• Operate drill presses, milling machines, sanders, CNC lathes and mills, engine lathes, saws, surface grinders, etc. as required for sample specimen machining.

• Use precision instruments and measuring devices including, but not limited to micrometers, dial/digital calipers, dial indicators, depth gauges and more to insure sample specimens meet quality requirements.

• Monitor machining methods and speed and feed of CNC programs to optimize throughput, remaining aware of perishable tool changes and cost, and improve where feasible.

• Make simple fixtures, drill jigs, etc.

• Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to quickly comprehend and retain instructions sufficient to perform repeat tasks successfully and with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-pace environment, despite periodic interruptions.
• Must be able to understand and reliably carry out extensive and detailed process instructions.
• Must be able to read and understand complex drawing and prints.
