Position Summary
The Product Compliance Manager plays a critical role in supporting Logomark’s success by establishing and leading an integrated product compliance management program. This hands-on leader will proactively track emerging legislation, translate regulatory requirements into structured business processes, and work collaboratively across teams to ensure continuous adherence to compliance standards. The role also involves responding swiftly to regulatory and safety risks, ensuring the company’s compliance posture remains robust and forward-looking.
The Product Compliance Manager’s scope encompasses developing the compliance function, integrating regulatory requirements into business processes, and ensuring alignment with company goals to minimize risk. Key focus areas include product safety, traceability, chemical compliance, marketing claim validation, international human rights monitoring, and program performance metrics. The position requires active engagement in cross-functional leadership to resolve compliance or safety issues promptly.
Operating as part of Logomark’s Supply Operations team, this role involves deep integration across the value chain, equipping divisions with knowledge, training, and processes to adhere to regulatory requirements while mitigating enterprise risks.
Responsibilities:
- Legislation Monitoring:
- Track emerging compliance legislation in all jurisdictions where Logomark operates, nationally and internationally.
- Research and analyze new business landscape issues with potential compliance impacts and prepare cross-divisional teams.
- Regulatory Implementation:
- Drive the implementation of new laws and compliance processes through project management, including leading meetings, documenting progress, and addressing questions.
- Develop risk-based prioritization strategies to enable rapid decision-making alongside stakeholders.
- Process Development:
- Co-develop processes, roles, and accountabilities to ensure legislation adherence.
- Create standardized manuals, deliver training, and establish automated processes for ongoing compliance management.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Establish processes for local, state, and federal reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Act as the key contact for agencies like the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, FDA, and others regarding compliance matters.
- Issue Management:
- Lead organizational actions and communications for active regulatory and safety issues.
- Coordinate with the Trade Compliance team on trade and customs requirements.
- Performance Metrics:
- Establish and track performance criteria to measure adherence to product compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a closely related role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of product compliance through relevant training or certifications.
- Proven ability to assess risks, escalate issues appropriately, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- High level of personal integrity and the ability to build open, trusting, and effective relationships.
- Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks with critical deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to gain team alignment with long-term objectives.
Core Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of domestic and international product safety and compliance, including FDA, Prop 65, REACH, PFAS laws, Packaging EPR laws, etc.
- Awareness of upcoming domestic and international legislation.
- Strategic operational planning and execution.
- Expertise in factory auditing and inspection (domestic and international).
- Proficiency in process writing, implementation, and vendor relationship management.
- Familiarity with contract drafting, editing, approval, and management.
- Strong understanding of global supply chains and their associated risks.
