Registered Nurse - Operating Room Circulator
This position is responsible for supporting surgical teams within the Operating Room, ensuring efficient and effective operations throughout various elective and emergency procedures.
Position Summary
The Operating Room Circulator is tasked with overseeing the flow of surgical cases, ensuring that operations proceed in a timely manner. This role may involve utilizing after-hour call services to staff the Operating Rooms during nights, holidays, and weekends. Qualified candidates will have extensive experience and the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment is available.
- Coordinate activities among surgical staff to guarantee the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
- Monitor and maintain patient safety and comfort throughout surgical processes.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support surgical operations.
Qualification Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN or ADN).
- Current, valid, and unrestricted RN license in the state of Alaska.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Circulator in an operating room.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and/or Rural Operating Rooms is strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications or specialized training related to operating room procedures.
Shift Information
- Full-time position with 4–10 hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday.
- Holiday coverage is required.
