Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family education, and demonstrates leadership by working collaboratively with ancillary nursing and other personnel to uphold professional nursing standards within the clinical setting.

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse adult and geriatric patient population.


• Assess and document patient conditions, develop care plans, and implement appropriate interventions.


• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders and nursing protocols.


• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and care plans.


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.


• Float to different units as needed, including custodial patient care areas.

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience.


• Willingness to float, including to the Thompson Unit and custodial patients as required.


• Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system.


• Current New Hampshire RN license or compact license.


• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

• 12-hour night shifts with a guaranteed 36 or 48 hours.


• Availability to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.


• Requested time off must be noted at the time of submission; maximum of 5 days accepted.


• Travelers may not take all holidays off and are expected to work during major holiday blocks.

Travelers are required to have their own vehicle for this position. All medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed and verified within five days of offer acceptance.
