We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, handle insurance verifications, and ensure smooth office operations. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in dental and medical office systems, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Curve is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and dental terminology. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service at the front desk
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software (e.g., Curve, Dentrix)
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including insurance verification for Medicare programs
- Collect payments, process billing, and manage dental collections efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within EMR/EHR systems
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries
- Manage patient intake forms, medical history updates, and documentation review processes
- Assist with coding procedures using CDT codes for billing purposes
- Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, medical records, and administrative tasks
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow and care plans implementation
- Perform clerical duties including typing, data entry (10 key typing), and Microsoft Office tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role; dental clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental coding, and health information management systems
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and handle billing processes including Medicare documentation review
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and office equipment operation
- Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Experience in handling front desk operations, appointment scheduling, and patient intake processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
