Bartender/Server

Modern Bird is hiring a swing position for Bartenders and server! You'll be craft cocktail focused, so this is a great opportunity to let your creativity shine!

Responsibilities for Bartenders

• Executing cocktails from start to finish. This includes but is not limited to preparation of shrubs, juicing citrus, etc.
• Working with seasonal ingredients
• Participating in the preparation and development of new menu items
• Honing your existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set
• Working collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff
• Maintaining cleanliness of any FOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
• Participate in deep cleaning of FOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
• Contributing to, and maintaining values of Modern Bird

Responsibilities for Servers

• Provide warm and friendly hospitality to all guests
• Have extensive menu knowledge
• Have a good understanding of wine and be able to recommend wines based on guests' preferences.
• Side work to be completed nightly
• Honing your existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set
• Working collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff
• Maintaining cleanliness of any FOH work areas
• Participate in deep cleaning of FOH work areas
• Contributing to, and maintaining values of Modern Bird

Skills & Requirements

• At least 1 year of related experience required
• General cocktail, spirit, and wine knowledge
• TIPS or related certification
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and high energy environment
• A passion for food and beverage, exceptional work ethic, and dedication to craft
• Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly and constantly improve skillset

Physical Demands

• The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.

Compensation: Hourly (Based on experience) tips
