NCDIT-Transportation is seeking a Cloud Engineer – Expert to support the DMV NCMAX Cloud Infrastructure build. The candidate will help establish the Azure cloud environment from scratch and serve as a technical bridge between NCDIT-T and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and security.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using DevOps methodologies.
- Design scalable, reliable, secure cloud network solutions.
- Support deployment of networks, VMs, load balancers, connectivity, and other cloud infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance to vendors and project teams.
Required:
- 7 years DevOps principles, practices, and tools.
- 7 years cloud infrastructure experience.
- 7 years cloud infrastructure best practices, including security, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Strong cloud networking, security, and IaC experience.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform; Azure strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Important:
- Must be local to the NC Triangle region.
- First-day onsite required for equipment pickup; initial onsite onboarding may be required.
- Statewide travel required; contractor must use their own vehicle.
- Onsite attendance may be required based on business needs.
