Main Goal
The Inventory Leader is responsible for overseeing all on-site inventory activities throughout project execution. This includes receiving, inspecting, organizing, tracking, and reconciling all materials delivered to the work site. The role ensures accuracy, compliance with client requirements, and full accountability of inventory from receipt through project closeout. This position also plays a key leadership role in training team members, maintaining safety standards, supporting project deliverables, and communicating effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming materials; ensure accurate counts, condition verification, and complete documentation.
- Perform regular inventory counts (daily, weekly, and project-based) ensuring accuracy and alignment with company standards.
- Maintain updated and organized inventory storage areas; ensure proper labeling, sorting, and protection of materials.
- Monitor delivery schedules and conduct on-site walkthroughs to confirm that all expected materials have arrived.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in quantities, documentation, or material locations; report issues promptly.
- Maintain adequate stock levels and support kitting, sorting, and material preparation as requested by the client.
- Coordinate all material staging and deployment needed for field operations.
- Prepare and manage inventory-related reports for internal and client use.
- Coordinate unloading areas for trucks and ensure safe, complete unloading of materials.
- Report damaged, defective, or missing items and collaborate with the Project Manager or client to file claims.
- Support movement of materials across designated work zones or departments.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as required (certification required or obtained on the job).
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to define and execute inventory workflows and methodologies.
- Support project kitting, including reading plans, blueprints, and layouts to pull materials accurately.
- Lead temporary labor or support staff when assigned.
- Assist with project closeout activities related to inventory, documentation, and material reconciliation.
- Train, mentor, and guide Inventory Helpers to ensure consistent and high-quality work.
- Promote process standardization, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with all project stakeholders.
- Ensure the inventory and material-handling areas follow all OSHA, MOCA, and client safety protocols.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times and enforce safety guidelines with team members.
- Support the maintenance of a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Contribute to the company’s Quality Management System by following established procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Technical training or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
Certifications
- CPR & First Aid.
- Fire Safety / Fire Extinguisher certification (preferred).
- Heavy machinery certifications: Forklift, Scissor Lift, or equivalent.
- OSHA-10 or OSHA-30.
Experience
- 1 year of experience in warehousing, logistics, inventory control, or related operational roles.
- Experience working on warehouse or construction-style projects with on-site teams.
Knowledge & Skills
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) required.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to read technical plans, drawings, and blueprints.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet fast-paced project timelines.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20–40 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in warehouse or project environments that may involve varying temperatures or conditions.
Scope & Magnitude
- Supervision: Direct management of 1–5 Inventory Helpers.
