SUMMARY
The Production Line Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports filling and packaging lines, including filling, capping, sealing, and coding equipment, while also performing general mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance. Strong mechanical aptitude is required, along with the ability to diagnose issues and perform preventive maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including rotary, inline, and piston filling machines; capping equipment; bottle sorting systems; heat sealers; and inkjet coders (Biner Ellison, ACASI filling machines, Pack West, Resina capping machines, Pace bottle sorting machines, Automate heat sealers, Keyence, Hitachi ink jet coders)
- Perform changeovers, line setups, and operational adjustments to support production requirements and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues; execute timely and effective repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on filling and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Maintain and repair equipment associated with liquid filling operations, including pumps, tanks, and transfer systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve plant pneumatic systems, including air distribution and control components.
- Maintain and repair plant plumbing systems, including piping, valves, and fluid handling infrastructure.
- Dismantle equipment, replace defective parts (including motors, belts, and bearings), and reassemble machinery to proper operating condition.
- Lubricate, clean, and maintain machine components such as shafts, gears, pulleys, and bearings.
- Maintain and repair pumps.
- Diagnose problems, codes, execute necessary repairs.
- Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
- Clears and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
- Replace or repair machine belts.
- Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape.
- Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
- Cuts out and joins (welds or solders) parts for worktables, benches, shelves and other equipment.
- Rebuild and fabricate parts.
- Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
- Understand and follow all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing production or packaging equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or liquid filling environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment.
Experience with filling, capping, sealing, and coding equipment is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of pneumatic systems, pumps, and fluid handling systems.
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including ability to read schematics and safely perform minor electrical repairs.
Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems is a plus.
Ability to fabricate or modify parts using basic tools, welding, or machining equipment is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
5 years of experience in process-oriented fluid manufacturing, warehouse/shipping operations and/or related industry.
Forklift and mechanical repair experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and communicate clearly.
MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication) and percentages, areas, and volume.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word is a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Maintain a valid Driver’s License and forklift certification.
