POSITION OVERVIEW: The Mechanical CAD Engineer supports automotive product design and development from concept through production. Skilled in 2D/3D CAD design, STEP release management, drawing generation, design feasibility reviews, and engineering documentation control. Proven ability to coordinate between OEM customers and global engineering teams, support development milestones, resolve technical issues, and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality automotive subsystems.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Support mechanical product design, development, and OEM automotive subsystems.
- Support all STEP release and upload 2D and 3D drawings, support OEM development stage events based on product development timing.
- Act as Liaison Mechanical CAD Engineer and coordinate with MOBIS HQ and OEM for concept design thru final design requirements, including design review / changes and feasibility reviews.
- Control and support Mechanical Engineering data/documents delivery between OEM and MOBIS.
- Work on site at MNA and also frequently offsite at OEM facilities. Collaborate between internal engineering teams and external customers.
- Support discussion with customers regarding future product definitions, requirement refinements, and issue resolutions to maximize system performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- ~5 years of experience in Mechanical or Electronics CAD design.
- Proficient in using CAD system (UG (latest version) and CATIA V5).
- Proficient in using CAD PLM systems and releasing (Teamcenter).
- Self-starter, motivated, with listening, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and explain technical decisions clearly.
- Adaptability to work with overseas HQ, including participating in nightly discussions and navigating cross-cultural communication styles.
- Previous automotive engineering experience at OEM or Tier 1 Supplier.
- OEM resident experience.
- OEM Team center using experience.
- International joint work experience.
- Experience and understanding of basics display interface (MIPI, DP, HDMI, LVDS, FPD-Link IV, etc).
- Knowledge of modern display technology including video and graphics for display firmware.
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.
- Adaptability to work with overseas HQ, including participating in nightly discussions and navigating cross-cultural communication styles.
- Be a team player.
- Have great attention to detail.
- Report to: Engineering Manager of Infotainment Displays.
- Product/System: Automotive HUD, ICS, Display etc.
- Work and communicate with: Local Customers, Local team members, Research engineers from Korea and/or in Korea. Your project(s) may accompany HQ research engineers remotely or on your business site.
- Consult with Expatriate coordinator to enhance communication with R&D HQ.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
- A typical work week is 45 hours/week.
- Working hours for employees are flexible with a typical day starting 7am- 9am M-F.
- Hybrid work schedule- 3 days on site required.
- Office work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
