Summary:
Mobilease, Inc. seeks a skilled Credit Portfolio Manager to oversee daily credit management operations. This individual will assess creditworthiness, recommend credit limits, and help minimize bad debts. The Credit Manager works closely with the VP of Risk, offering input on credit policy and strategy, and is responsible for supporting and enforcing company decisions with staff and sales teams. Policy, strategy, and major exceptions will be handled in partnership with the VP of Risk and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the creditworthiness of potential and existing clients using financial analysis and risk assessment tools.
- Recommend credit limits for businesses and individuals according to existing credit guidelines and policies to the Credit Committee.
- Collaborate with the VP of Risk regarding policy questions, process improvements, and high risk-related recommendations.
- Lead and coach credit analysts, ensuring high-quality underwriting and the consistent application of company policies.
- Monitor client, asset, and industry exposures; track early warning signals and ensure adherence to company credit standards and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare accurate credit reports and maintain thorough documentation of credit decisions.
- Support recommendations for credit extensions, renewals, restructures, or collection actions, communicating required information to senior management and the VP of Risk for final decisions.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, finance, and legal to implement and enforce credit processes and uphold company policies.
- Analyze portfolio performance, report on credit risk metrics, and suggest improvements, with changes implemented by VP of Risk or leadership.
- Hold staff and sales accountable for executing approved decisions and policies in day-to-day operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, audit requirements, and company policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years in credit underwriting, risk assessment, or a similar role, with growing independence.
- Significant experience with credit risk assessment techniques and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including negotiation abilities.
- Experience with credit management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools.
