What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Charge Bookkeeper position at Mobile Lumber & Building Materials?
Our company is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist/Bookkeeper to join our team! Mobile Lumber currently has nine locations across three states. You will be responsible for preparing and examining documents and related voucher records for our company in our corporate office in Mobile, Alabama. Work with an experienced, friendly staff in a comfortable, team environment. This is a FULL TIME position.
Responsibilities:
- Perform corporate accounting functions, including A/R postings, reconciling GL accounts and creating data reports
- Assist with tax compliance and reporting requirements
- Prepare and analyze various sales and financial reports
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
- Prepare and post entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
- Ensure compliance with local, federal and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting
- Experience with credit and collections preferred
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting systems
- Experience with Bistrack accounting software preferred but not required
- Must have advanced experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal mediums with people at all levels of the organization and customers.
