Position: Induction Furnace Operator
Location: PST: 24200 Plymouth Road, Redford
Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday-Friday
JOB TITLES AND EQUIPMENT
Furnace Operator – Heat Treatment employees are expected to meet the abilities of maintain furnace control, inspection of parts before and after the heat treat process, examination of parts, reading computer controls, examination of processed parts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION
The work environment for this position is noisy, oily, fast paced and physically demanding. It involves standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks with exposure to oily conditions and dust, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and appropriate footwear. Physical demands required throughout the shift are, but not limited to:
- Able to stand constantly for long periods of time
- Able to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch frequently
- Able to climb stairs or ladders, and balance occasionally
- Able to use hands and fingers to feel, reach, operate, place, remove, inspect, prepare continually
- Able to talk, hear, discuss, and communicate frequently
- Able to see, detect, recognize, inspect, observe, and assess continually
- Able to push, pull, move frequently
- Able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Hearing protection, safety glasses, appropriate anti-slip foot protection (steel-toed not required)
