JOB SUMMARY
The Extraction Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing extraction processes in our cannabis lab, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of cannabis concentrates. This role involves managing extraction operations, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, training staff, and refining extraction techniques to maximize yield and purity. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cannabis extraction, laboratory operations, and team leadership.
This is an onsite position with no opportunity to work from home.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and build out laboratory equipment and space.
- Train new employees on processes and procedures within the lab.
- Advise leadership on new and emerging best practices to keep the organization at the forefront of the industry.
- Organize and implement laboratory schedules to meet production needs.
- Complete inventory tasks and establish security protocols as dictated by regulation.
- Implement processes and systems to maximize laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including safety and environmental requirements.
- Partner creatively with leadership to develop new products and lab-created offerings.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for extraction, distillation, and other lab workflows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 3 years of experience in cannabis extraction or a similar laboratory environment.
- Strong knowledge of extraction methods, solvent recovery, and post-processing techniques.
- Familiarity with cannabis compliance regulations (e.g., METRC tracking).
- Leadership experience with the ability to train and manage a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Split between laboratory, agricultural, and production settings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
