Mn Prevention & Recovery Alliance (MnPRA) is a Recovery Community Organization dedicated to serving the recovery community in Minnesota through education, advocacy, and peer support. Governed by representatives of the recovery community, MnPRA operates impactful programs such as the Know the Truth Prevention Program and the Ramsey County Opioid Prevention & Unified Services (OPUS) Coalition. It also organizes the annual From Statistics to Solutions Prevention and Recovery Conference. MnPRA’s initiatives are accessible to all community members, emphasizing a peer-led, community-focused approach to prevention and recovery.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) role located in Minneapolis, MN. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing peer support to individuals in recovery, facilitating group sessions, and collaborating with community partners to promote prevention and recovery efforts. The CPRS will also assist in planning and implementing community programs, fostering a supportive environment, and contributing to advocacy and outreach campaigns to reinforce recovery resources and education.
Qualifications
- Experience in peer support and recovery, as well as an understanding of recovery principles and community-focused services.
- Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills to build trust and relationships with individuals and groups.
- Knowledge and experience in facilitating group discussions, workshops, or support group sessions.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse community partners and stakeholders to enhance prevention and recovery efforts.
- Organizational and planning skills for implementing and supporting community programs and events.
- Certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or equivalent qualification is required.
- Experience working within recovery, prevention, or advocacy-focused initiatives is preferred.
