What You’ll Do
Drive New Product Development
- Lead new equipment and automation programs from concept through commercialization
- Define product requirements, technical solutions, and development plans
- Guide projects through Stage-Gate processes with clear milestones and deliverables
- Manage multiple product development programs simultaneously
- Drive timelines, budgets, and performance targets
- Identify risks early and lead mitigation strategies
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams
- Influence without direct authority to keep programs moving forward
- Provide clear updates to senior leadership
- Partner with Sales and Applications teams to identify market opportunities
- Translate customer needs into scalable product solutions
- Contribute to the division’s product roadmap and innovation pipeline
- Support engineering design, prototyping, and validation efforts
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (NFPA, CE, ISO)
- Promote best practices across divisions to accelerate innovation
- New products launched on time and aligned to business goals
- Strong collaboration across engineering, operations, and commercial teams
- Delivery against cost, performance, and margin targets
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 10 years in automation, machine design, or capital equipment development
- Proven success launching commercial equipment products
- Strong experience leading cross-functional product development programs
- Experience with structured development processes (Stage-Gate, design controls)
- Strong program and project management capability
- Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Knowledge of PLCs, robotics, motion control, or machine vision preferred
- Ability to influence, lead, and drive results across teams
- Combination of office and manufacturing/shop environment
- Exposure to typical industrial conditions including moving equipment and electrical systems
- Up to 50% travel (domestic and international)
