AWS Data Engineer

The AWS Data Engineer is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for building and optimizing the cloud data infrastructure that powers analytics and AI workloads. This position focuses on implementing scalable data pipelines, architecture patterns, and governance practices that support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This role is central to designing and maintaining modern data platforms on AWS, ensuring they reliably support both operational reporting and advanced AI/ML use cases.

The AWS Data Engineer collaborates cross-functionally with enterprise architecture, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud data solutions aligned with organizational goals.

What You'll Do:

• Partner with architecture, data, and business leaders to define and deliver cloud data strategy on AWS.
• Contribute to and help maintain a multi-year roadmap covering data capabilities, tooling, and infrastructure.
• Build and support scalable AI-integrated data solutions including GenAI pipelines, RAG architectures, agent-based systems, and LLM orchestration.
• Evaluate emerging AWS-native and third-party technologies and their impact on engineering workflows and productivity.
• Lead Proof of Concepts on AWS to validate new approaches and drive successful solutions into production.
• Design and evolve scalable, cloud-native data platforms on AWS for analytics and AI workloads.
• Architect and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data models supporting both real-time and historical use cases.
• Establish and enforce governance standards around data quality, security, and responsible AI usage.
• Enable BI and self-service analytics by delivering clean, well-governed data assets.
• Continuously optimize AWS environments for performance, scalability, and reliability.

What You Bring:

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing AI/ML solutions, with particular depth in Generative AI and LLM-based applications.
• Strong background in data engineering or data architecture, with expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in AWS (primary platform), with working knowledge of Azure or GCP a plus; strong skills in Python and SQL.
• Proven ability to bridge technical and business teams, translating requirements into scalable cloud data and AI solutions.
• Familiarity with leading AI platforms, tooling, and vendors — including emerging startups and LLM providers.
• Experience with AI-driven automation across the software development lifecycle, including AI-assisted testing approaches.
• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks, and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Awareness of trends including natural language-driven development, agentic workflows, and context-sharing protocols.
