Department: MMF Administration Shift: Primarily Days (United States of America) Employee Type: Regular Per Diem Type (if applicable): Minimum Pay Range: $67.48 - $84.35 Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Primary Care Services is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing and advancing primary care services across multiple sites. This role aligns daily operations with long-term organizational goals to drive sustainable business growth, operational excellence, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care within a value-based care framework. The Director partners closely with providers, administrative leaders, key stakeholders and community partners to optimize patient access, enhance clinical outcomes, and expand primary care service lines. Central to this role is ensuring seamless coordination across the care continuum while championing evidence-based practices, operational innovation, financial stewardship, and compliance with regulatory standards. Accountable for setting and executing comprehensive growth strategies, the Director leads efforts to integrate population health management, chronic disease prevention, and patient engagement into primary care operations. This position fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning by developing high-performing teams and promoting professional development. By aligning clinical excellence with operational efficiency and community collaboration, the Director advances service line growth, patient experience, and long-term sustainability. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 or more years of relevant work experience is required. Master’s degree in a related field, strongly preferred. Professional certification in healthcare leadership or quality improvement, preferred. (e.g., FACHE, CPHQ, CMPE) *Must meet all DMV requirements listed below. Knowledge/Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with a bachelor's degree, or a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience without a degree, including substantial experience in ambulatory or primary care operations. Experience overseeing operations and strategic growth of ambulatory services including primary care. Deep knowledge of primary care delivery models (e.g., Team Based Care, FQHC, RHC), market dynamics, and value-based care strategies, preferred Demonstrated success in strategic planning, program development, and leading large-scale growth initiatives within healthcare. In-depth knowledge of healthcare trends, clinical best practices, and healthcare finance. Experience with and knowledge of federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, CDPH, FQHC, RHC) Strong understanding of value-based care strategies, including care coordination, prevention, and community health integration. Knowledge of specialty specific payer contracting, bundled payments, and procedural reimbursement models, preferred. Familiarity with risk management, patient safety protocols, and accreditation readiness processes. Experience leading change management initiatives using structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), preferred. Knowledge of provider contracting, payer relations, and managing value-based payment models, preferred. Skilled in interpreting operational, financial, and clinical data to make informed, strategic decisions. Deep understanding of ambulatory operations, patient access systems, and care flow optimization. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel (data analysis and reporting), Word (documentation), and SharePoint (collaboration). Familiarity with EHR systems, Epic preferred.
