Quality Assurance Specialist
Pay Rate: $21.75 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, may include overtime, evenings, and some weekend hours
Work Environment: Onsite, office setting, fast-paced environment
A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to support operational excellence across multiple functional areas. This role is responsible for conducting quality reviews, identifying performance trends, ensuring compliance with established standards, and driving continuous process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in quality review environments, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality. Experience in healthcare programs, government services, Medicaid, or CHIP environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality reviews across multiple functional areas to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures
- Perform objective, accurate, and concise quality assessments with a focus on continuous improvement
- Maintain a monthly quality score of 96% or higher and an approved challenge percentage below 5%
- Meet established productivity standards across all assigned functional areas
- Serve as a subject matter resource by maintaining a strong understanding of program operations and functional workflows
- Track trends, identify recurring issues, and recommend process improvements to enhance service delivery and quality outcomes
- Update and maintain quality monitoring systems to compile and track assessment data
- Assist with implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes, controls, and best practices
- Monitor and ensure staff complete required corrections from returned quality assessments
- Perform administrative tasks to support business objectives and quality team operations
- Support cross-functional departments as needed
- Contribute to special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in government services, consumer services, health and human services, or equivalent relevant experience preferred
- Public sector healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Medicaid and/or CHIP program experience is a plus
- Previous quality assurance, auditing, compliance, or operational review experience preferred
- College degree is preferred

- Ability to produce highly accurate work under tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing processes and guidelines
- Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality of quality assessments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to type a minimum of 30 WPM
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Strong commitment to service, empathy, and professional excellence
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit and use hands for computer and office tasks
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, or lift up to 10 pounds
- Must have close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
