What are the responsibilities and job description for the RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST, SPECIALTIY PAIN SERVICES-FULL TIME position at MMC #1?
JOB DUTIES
- Assesses the patient’s condition and nursing needs prior to, during, and following interventional pain management procedures
- Assists physicians during interventional pain management procedures including epidural steroid injections (CESI, LESI), medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablations, sacroiliac (SI) joint injections, spinal cord stimulator trials, trigger point injections and other procedures.
- Prepares and maintains sterile fields, ensuring adherence to aseptic technique and infection control standards.
- Produce diagnostic images using our protocols
- Obtain adequate patient history, explain procedures to the patient, while addressing patient concerns
- Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and ensure processed images are in proper order of exposure, and appropriate identification of patient and anatomy imaged
- Work closely with our support staff and board-certified Radiologists for the best patient care that we can provide
- Clerical duties as assigned.
- Assists with inventory management, stocking procedure rooms, and ensuring availability of sterile supplies and medications required for scheduled cases.
- Must be willing to learn and assist with new procedures as they evolve.
- Communication skills necessary to effectively:
- Provide explanations to the patient and/or significant other.
- Communicate with other members of the health team.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Professional knowledge of Radiology and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Must be a registered Radiologic Technologist.
Current BLS Healthcare Provider card.
