Requirements
Essential Job Function:
Inventory Management & Reconciliation
- Set up and maintain structured inventory locations, labeling, and part number systems
- Own and manage the material cage—including cleanliness, part organization, and physical security
- Perform regular cycle counts and inventory reconciliations between physical stock and system records
- Partner with Finance to ensure materials are properly capitalized
- Support the transition from legacy inventory practices to a robust, auditable system
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and internal tracking systems
- Allocate and receive all work orders; track materials required for builds
- Communicate with the Cables Engineer & Supervisor regarding schedules, changes, and order status
- Identify and source stock for components listed in customer cable drawings (as needed)
- Maintain inventory levels to support just-in-time builds while minimizing excess stock
- Interpret BOMs and customer drawings to identify required components
- Create and manage BOMs based on engineering documentation
- Order and track materials for internal production orders
- Receive, inspect, and stage or kit materials by job
- Maintain inventory accuracy, including managing the Kanban system
- Post scanned work orders, sales orders, and required materials to project records
- Support system cleanup or migration in ERP, Excel trackers, and Salesforce
- Identify process gaps and propose improvements to inventory flow, traceability, and reporting
- Cross train and work in other divisions/departments as needed
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office/365, including Excel. Salesforce and/or ERP knowledge a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation habits
- Skilled at managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to troubleshoot issues related to orders, inventory, or material discrepancies
- Able to work efficiently under pressure with frequent interruptions, while maintaining accuracy
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships across departments (sales, engineering, production)
- Effective verbal and written communicator with internal teams and vendors
- Ability to coach and train others, sharing process knowledge and system expertise as needed
- Works well in both independent and team-based environments
- Basic arithmetic, writing and reading comprehension skills to record and transfer data.
