Staff Accountant (Junior Level)

Location: Urbandale, IA 50323
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 6 days/month (1 day one week, 2 days the next)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $38.00/hr
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience: 5 years

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support accounting operations, process ownership, analysis, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will work independently, solve complex problems, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and performance.

• Own accounting processes, projects, and deliverables from planning through completion.
• Perform detailed financial and operational analysis to identify issues, root causes, and solutions.
• Drive process improvements and recommend effective operational practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
• Monitor processes and performance metrics to support operational effectiveness.
• Provide guidance, training, and best practices to peers and junior team members.
• Manage priorities and deliver accurate results with minimal supervision.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in accounting/finance operations or a transaction-processing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage end-to-end processes or projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience implementing process improvements and tracking KPIs.
• Experience coaching or training peers/junior team members.
• Strong experience with analytical and problem-solving initiatives.
