Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Network Performance Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise network performance monitoring solutions that ensure optimal network visibility, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Gigamon VUE, Riverbed, NetFlow, Broadcom NetOps, network taps, packet capture analysis (Wireshark), and Palo Alto Firewalls. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work closely with IT and security teams in a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network performance monitoring solutions.
- Configure and administer Gigamon VUE, network taps, Riverbed, NetFlow, Broadcom NetOps, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Perform packet capture and traffic analysis using tools such as Wireshark to troubleshoot network issues.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure network visibility, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for network monitoring systems and processes.
- Provide technical support and guidance on network monitoring and firewall technologies.
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3 years of experience in Network Performance Engineering or Network Monitoring.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Gigamon VUE
- Network Taps
- Riverbed
- NetFlow
- Broadcom NetOps
- Wireshark or other packet capture tools
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, and enterprise networking concepts.
- Experience with network troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and firewall administration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with additional network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds.
- Experience supporting large enterprise or federal government environments.
- Project management experience.
