Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately complete electrical installations and repairs.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose issues and ensure proper functioning of electrical systems.
- Work on low voltage and high voltage systems safely while following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work during new builds or renovations, including framing carpentry tasks when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with schematic interpretation for complex control systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation components.
Qualifications
- Valid journeyman/journeywoman electrician license or certification with proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
- Extensive knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code), schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high voltage installations, and industrial electrician tasks.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical troubleshooting.
- Construction site experience demonstrating ability to work safely in dynamic environments involving renovation or new construction projects.
- Strong understanding of schematics and technical diagrams related to electrical systems; familiarity with renovation projects is a plus.
- Ability to perform frame carpentry tasks or maintenance person duties as needed for comprehensive project support.
