Journeyman Electrician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that electrical projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all relevant codes and standards. Duties

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete electrical tasks on construction sites or existing facilities.
• Test electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose issues accurately.
• Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high voltage circuits in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades like frame carpentry or maintenance person services to ensure seamless project execution.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times, including proper handling of high voltage systems and low voltage wiring.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for compliance and future reference.

Skills

• Extensive experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for accurate installation and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of NEC standards, high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) wiring practices.
• Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers as well as power tools like drills and saws efficiently.
• Experience working on construction sites with a strong focus on safety procedures.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes.
• Skilled in using testing devices such as ohmmeters for diagnosing electrical issues.
• Ability to perform renovation work involving electrical upgrades or modifications within existing structures.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail.
• Capable of performing frame carpentry or maintenance person tasks related to electrical installations when needed.
