ASCP Oncology Patient Care Technician

Join a dedicated oncology care team in the Midwest region as an Oncology Patient Care Technician. In this role, you will work closely under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to assist with patient care and departmental procedures, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment for patients undergoing treatment.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care and assist with vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and other clinical tasks as directed by the RN.
• Support patients and their families to create a positive care experience, integrating patient-centered principles with kindness and respect.
• Enter patient data into electronic health records accurately and communicate relevant information to the nursing team.
• Assist with rounding, responding promptly to patient care requests, and transporting patients safely.
• Maintain departmental supplies, perform inventory checks, and support clerical operations to ensure smooth workflow.
• Participate in safety programs, adhere to personal protective equipment protocols, and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Help orient and educate new staff members as assigned.

Education and Certification

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a 75-hour CNA course certification is required.
• Must be listed on the Nurse Aide Registry at the time of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association is mandatory.
• Completion of a Mandatory Reporter course at or within six months of hire.
