Lead a fleet of 20 drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity of their fleet. Routinely review assigned areas and find ways to maximize profitability. Supervise and lead the support staff (dispatchers, driver support specialist, driver managers). Support the safety department and staff.

This position reports to the office usually M – F, 8:00am – 6:00pm up to 50 hours per week in the office and does have additional on call responsibilities - after hours and on the weekend assisting drivers with issues that cannot wait until normal business hours.
Wage Range: 64480.00 - 85280.00 per year
General Description of Benefits: Health and dental benefits for the employee run about $27 weekly for your contribution with a low $250 deductible on the health benefits and $0 - $50 deductible for the dental . Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Lead a fleet of 20 drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity of their fleet. Routinely review assigned areas and find ways to maximize profitability. - Supervise support staff, provide training and guidance
- Review, approve and process payroll for support staff and drivers
- Generate weekly invoices and submit for payment as directed
- Load Plan - coordinate, confirm and set up loads for drivers, including route requirements
- Dispatch, track & report on 10 drivers
- Coordinate truck availability for routs, service and/or repair
- Coordinate safe truck routes, identify road closures and alternate routes as needed
- Locate safe truck/trailer parking as needed or requested by the drivers
- Develop high performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching and positive reinforcement
- Meet driver’s home time expectations by actively managing expectations and keeping commitments
- Maximize usage for all assigned tractors and trailers
- Proactively manage safety performance
- Provide backup coverage to the Safety Compliance Fleet Coordinator and familiarize yourself with those job duties
- Proactively monitor and manage the drivers ELDs, Fuel Cards, EFS Cards, Trip Reports, Time Sheets, Driver Weekly Pay Reports and Weekly Invoicing – submit every Friday before EOD or other day as needed
- Direct and provide training to the Driver Support Specialist and other support staff.
- Update Tracking Spreadsheets with delivery data
- Report monthly miles as requested/required to leasing companies on time due by the 1st of each month for the prior period
- Report monthly miles to ODOT, generate the monthly report, pay and keep on file due by the 15th of each month
- Promote driver safety at all times
- Understand and follow the MLCO Integrated Logistics Driver Expectations document
- Hand off appropriate information for the next shift
- You will be required to participate in annual training, meetings and events as it relates to the business
- Monitor and manage overtime hours for all employees to control cost
- Improve processes with accuracy
- Create and maintain SOP for the department
- Support our customers, work with our drivers/employees to provide the best possible service (this could include working late/lay-over to do a pickup or other situations – must follow HOS always)

Job Requirements:
Qualifications: What you need to bring
- 3 years’ experience in a related position, driver manager experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and supervisor experience required in transportation/logistics, load planner, dispatcher or commercial driver.
- Must be able to lead others
- Must possess exceptional communication skills
- Must be proficient on a computer with Microsoft Office skills
- Must be able to multi-task with attention to detail
- Must be able to work in high pressure situations in a fast-paced environment
- Must have experience with DOT HOS as it relates to our business
- Must be a team payer
- Must possess and maintain commercial license, Class A License to assist our local business
