What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at ML Tech?
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager professional with a proven track record in capital formation, client relationship management, and strategic growth within the investment or fintech space. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and the ability to lead a team to scale ML Tech’s growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Build a best in class crypto platform via partnership, institutional sales, and product expertise
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy targeting institutional investors, hedge funds, family offices, and HNWIs
- Drive capital introduction efforts, leveraging existing relationships and building new ones within the crypto, alternative investments and fintech space
- Identify and engage with potential investors, conducting presentations and meetings to showcase ML Tech’s investment solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling marketing materials, investor decks, and thought leadership content to attract new capital
- Negotiate and structure investment agreements, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and investor preferences
- Keep team up to date by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily reports, and weekly work plans; track activity in Zendesk
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of business development professionals, ensuring high performance and goal achievement
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and strategic thinking to drive revenue growth
- Set clear KPIs for the team and track progress through regular performance reviews and pipeline management
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with engineering, tech, and operations teams to align business development strategies with product offerings
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and risks
- Represent ML Tech at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build brand visibility and establish strategic partnerships
- Collaborate with PR and marketing teams to enhance the firm’s thought leadership and industry presence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree preferred
- 7 years of experience in business development (within the investment management space), capital introduction, or fundraising, hedge funds, fintech, or alternative investments
- Established network of institutional investors, allocators, and HNWIs
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of managing and growing high-performance teams
- In-depth understanding of the global cryptocurrency ecosystem
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a proactive and results-driven approach
- Flexible mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and assist in various functions as needed
- Will you be required to take and pass the Series 3 exam within two months of employment
- Familiarity with CFTC, NFA, SEC and global regulatory considerations for investment fundraising (preferred but not mandatory)
