Transport Driver

Reports: Central Transportation Manager
Status: PT / Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
(This position is part-time and works on an as needed basis) The Transport Driver is responsible for providing safe, timely, and courteous transportation services to clients of ML Utilities. This includes delivery and pickup of vehicles as needed. At ML Utilities, we believe in work-life balance: in this role, you will be away from home no more than two nights a week and home every weekend.
Key Responsibilities include: (but are not limited to)
Supports daily operations by serving as one of the key drivers responsible for the safe transport, delivery, and/or pickup of small-regular sized trucks or vehicles.
Operate company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and ML Utilities safety protocols.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and fuel levels of assigned vehicles.
Complete transportation logs and trip documentation accurately and on time.
Communicate promptly regarding trip updates or delays.
Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle concerns immediately.
Regularly verify that all vehicle documentation (registration, insurance, inspection, etc.) is current and properly stored inside the vehicle.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid class D driver’s license with a clear driving record and ability to be insured.
Prior experience transporting vehicles is preferred.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in high-stress or emotionally sensitive situations.
Physical Requirements:
Strong communication skills and reliability.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and short notice shifts.Ability to sit for extended periods of time while driving.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Other Requirements:
Completion of background check and drug screening.
