We are looking for a Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Aggregate to Join our Salt Lake City, UT Team and help drive our customer service goals and objectives in the Field.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Field Heavy Equipment service and support, have a commitment to Safety and desire to provide first class customer service.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.  Maintains a clean, organized work are free from Safety issues and concerns.

• Utilizes a variety of techniques and tools to inspect, assess, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions on a variety of heavy equipment applications
• Maintains accurate reports and information on equipment and repairs to ensure accurate billing and service logs.

• Overhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
• Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications

• Utilize great technical skill to perform hydraulic and electronic tests, also using VCAD's computer programming for diagnostics and parameter settings.
• Brings to the attention of the shop manager any additional work required on unit or visible signs of damage including out of service conditions and safety hazards.

• Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventative maintenance work on equipment and vehicles as required

• Keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributors to maintain and upgrade technical competencies and knowledge through in-house and external training sources.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School diploma; Trade School (2 yr. degree) or other related experience in a Heavy Equipment capacity preferred.
• Experience in Crushing, Screening, Composting and Yellow Iron industry experience preferred.
• Proficient utilizing computers including Microsoft products, Smartphone and iPad.
• This position requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, climbing, moving and reaching overhead and working overhead.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work inside and outdoors in various climates, temperatures, and/or adverse conditions.
• This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, hazardous materials, fumes, airborne particles and moderate noise levels. Appropriate PPE gear must be worn as required.
• Must have valid Driver's License and a clean MVR (this job does NOT require a Class A CDL).

Selected candidates are subject to a pre-employment drug screen and a post-offer WorkSTEPs physical and background check. Selected candidate must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Certification.
