Assistant Controller | Mid-Size Contractor | Miami (Doral), FL
Our client is a family run general contractor in Florida that has been building for almost 40 years. They have a strong culture and exceptionally high tenure, with many people having been there since the very beginning. It is a tight knit, collaborative team that is ambitious with an open door policy.
They are hiring an Assistant Controller who will be mentored into the Controller seat.
You will report to the Controller, who gives a lot of autonomy and doesn’t micromanage, but will give you the coaching and mentorship you need to grow your career. This is a highly visible role, and you will be a key partner to the Controller, the Executive Leadership and the Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the financial statements
- Prepare for and run the monthly close
- Own projects, with exposure across the parent company and other business arms
- Partner weekly with the Controller, Leadership, and PMs
- Develop towards the Controller seat through direct mentorship
- Over time, lead and oversee a small team as the company grows
About you
You are ambitious, want to grow and are a very good technical accountant. You have a strong personality, enjoy working with people and want to become a leader.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Master’s degree
- CPA (highly preferred)
- Strong communicator, comfortable with PMs and senior leadership
- Leadership potential
- QuickBooks and Procore experience is a plus
