Location Manager - Hutchinson Fertilizer Terminal

JOB SUMMARY:  The Location Manager at Hutchinson Fertilizer is responsible for directing all operations, maintenance, safety, cleanliness, inventory control, and product quality at the terminal. This role oversees terminal logistics, employee supervision, customer service, and compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. The Location Manager works closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure efficient product movement, accurate inventory management, and a high level of service while supporting cooperative goals and profitability. Special projects may be assigned. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven management and supervisory skills

• Strong operational knowledge of dry fertilizer handling systems and terminal equipment

• Ability to perform minor repairs and oversee scheduled maintenance

• Working knowledge of dry fertilizer products and agronomy services

• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Computer and data entry skills

• Ability to obtain and retain a Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to taste or smell. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Eye protection is required in restricted areas. Appropriate personal protective equipment (i.e. goggles, gloves, long sleeve shirt, and/or face mask) required when handling chemicals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Operations Management, or related field OR five or more years of experience in fertilizer or agronomy operations. Supervisory experience preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Attend all product updates and service training classes assigned by your manager.
• Complete special projects assigned by your manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in outdoor and industrial environments with exposure to dust, weather, noise, and heavy equipment. Extended hours may be required during peak seasons.
