Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage circuits, to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, schematics, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
- Install, repair, and upgrade electrical components such as wiring, panels, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to accurately execute installation or repair tasks.
- Support renovation projects by framing carpentry, conduit installation, and general construction site work related to electrical systems.
- Collaborate with other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate complex projects or repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including NEC guidelines for high voltage and low voltage systems; utilize appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system updates for compliance and future reference.
Experience
- Proven maintenance electrician experience with a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites involving renovation or new installations.
- Skilled in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
- Knowledge of NEC standards for both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for troubleshooting.
