Role Description The Electrical Supervisor role at MJK ELECTRIC is a full-time, on-site position based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The person in this role oversees day-to-day electrical operations, including assigning tasks, supervising field electricians, and monitoring project progress to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within scope. Responsibilities include coordinating installations, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and equipment, reviewing plans and drawings, and verifying compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company standards. The Electrical Supervisor will inspect completed work, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. This role also involves maintaining job records, communicating with project managers and clients, and supporting procurement of materials and tools required on-site.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, task delegation, performance feedback, and coaching in a field environment.
- Hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and service work, including troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
- Solid knowledge of electricity principles and electrical engineering fundamentals as they apply to building and facility power systems.
- Proficiency working with electrical equipment such as panels, breakers, transformers, conduits, wiring, and related devices.
- Knowledge of NEC, OSHA requirements, and local electrical codes, with a strong commitment to workplace and job-site safety.
- State or local electrician license or journeyperson/master-level certification preferred; relevant trade school or technical training is an advantage.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or lead electrician role within construction, service, or facilities maintenance environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, and to document work clearly and accurately.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with crews, contractors, inspectors, and clients, and the ability to resolve issues professionally.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site in varying field conditions and schedules as project needs require.
