What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at MJ Morgan Group?
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Jessup, MD! In this hands-on role, you’ll maintain and repair food production machinery, building systems, and facility equipment to keep everything running safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical equipment issues
- Read and use blueprints and electrical schematics
- Repair motors, pumps, conveyors, switches, lighting, and piping
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools
- Work safely with high-voltage electrical circuits (480V, 3-phase)
- Handle plumbing and building maintenance tasks
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment
- Follow OSHA safety standards, GMPs, and use proper PPE
- Support food safety and quality initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical trades or maintenance
- Electrical certification or equivalent experience with high/low voltage systems
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic TIG/MIG welding
- Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs and climb ladders
- Available to work production days, including Sundays
Schedules Available: 1st Shift – 7am to Finish; 2nd Shift – 3:30pm – Finish
Pay Rate: $23/hr – based on experience
