Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and implementing efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience in manufacturing and FDA compliant environments, and exceptional leadership skills to guide the finance team effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, inventory valuation and reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

2. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Enforce existing account SOPs and develop new SOPs as necessary for compliance.

3. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and variance analysis. Own general ledger and reconciliation processes.

4. Lead, supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in daily operations and professional development. Help foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within accounting.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze cost structures, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and drive profitability.

6. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

7. Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital to support business objectives.

8. Evaluate and implement Odoo accounting software and systems enhancements to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

9. Provide financial analysis and insights to business owners and Executive Leadership to support strategic decision-making.

10. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to continuously improve financial processes and controls.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA license (or CPA-eligible) preferred.

2. Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the manufacturing industry or FDA-regulated environment, with at least 5 years of progressive responsibility.

3. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.

4. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with manufacturing-specific software (Odoo) is a plus.

5. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude preferred.

6. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.

7. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

8. Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.

9. Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial management.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
