The Cloud Infrastructure Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating the organization’s cloud infrastructure and related services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) to ensure security, availability, performance, and cost effectiveness in a 24x7 global environment.
This role focuses on cloud platforms and connectivity while overseeing integrations with on‑premise systems and networks, following ITIL best practices and strong configuration management discipline.
Responsibilities
• Own the overall architecture and operation of MUTB/NY cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), including landing zones, accounts/subscriptions, and resource organization.
• Plan and execute cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including re‑hosting, re‑platforming, and re‑architecting workloads.
• Implement and enforce cloud security best practices (identity and access management, network security, encryption, secrets management, logging).
• Oversee cloud storage, backup, and disaster recovery strategies, including RPO/RTO objectives and regular testing.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability for cloud services (availability, performance, capacity, and cost), ensuring coverage for 24x7 global operations.
• Define and manage on‑call and incident response processes for cloud and core infrastructure services, including escalation paths and communication for global teams and users.
• Apply ITIL service management practices (incident, problem, change, and request management) to cloud and infrastructure operations.
• Own and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and configuration management processes for cloud and key on‑prem infrastructure components.
• Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date configuration items (CIs), relationships, and dependencies are recorded and used for impact analysis and change planning.
• Optimize cloud spend, implement tagging and showback/chargeback models, and work with Finance on forecasting and budgeting.
• Standardize and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code templates and pipelines (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation) for consistent deployments.
•Define and enforce standards for OS images, base configurations, and shared services in the cloud (directory, logging, monitoring, endpoint management).
• Coordinate with regional IT/operations teams to ensure consistent service levels and support across time zones.
• Lead and mentor cloud engineers/DevOps/infrastructure staff, prioritize work, and ensure timely delivery of cloud projects and operational support.
• Manage relationships with cloud providers and key vendors, including support cases and service reviews.
• Maintain documentation (runbooks, diagrams, inventories, CMDB records) and ensure support materials enable 24x7 follow‑the‑sun support.
• Based on changes in the business work environment, job responsibilities can change, and removed accordingly. Additionally, this position will perform other duties as required, and participate in special projects as deemed necessary and appropriate by Management.
Skills & Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: 6-8 years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/) in production environments.
• Experience operating and supporting critical systems in a 24x7, global environment, including on‑call rotation and incident management.
• Practical experience with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, and configuration management).
• Experience managing or contributing to a CMDB and configuration management practices in a complex environment.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity concepts.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools.
• Experience designing and operating highly available, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and running cloud/infrastructure projects and operations.
• Must be versatile, able to work effectively independently or as part of a team on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexible to work beyond regular office hours at times based on business needs.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $125K- $145K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
