This position will be located in our Norwalk, CT office. Candidate will work in the office 5 days a week.
Position Overview:
This position works closely with the business leaders to evaluate business financial performance, opportunities, drive financial improvement, and is responsible for financial planning, presentation and analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting and Reporting:
- Lead and build operational financial planning and analysis capabilities for North American platform.
- Drive and lead financial analysis and decision making across the organization by partnering with business leaders
- Includes identifying opportunities for efficiency or revenue improvement and bringing ideas/partnering with business leaders
- Accountable for the preparation of the budget and medium-term plans, developing assumptions with business leaders, and developing a process to report key performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Integration:
- Evaluate operating expenses and identify opportunities for reduction
- Collaborate on manpower planning and evaluate/scrutinize new hires and replacements with HR
- Evaluate opportunities for synergies in both revenue and cost areas. As appropriate, work with Credit Planning to help develop and implement risk-based pricing strategies and establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance.
- Facilitate board material presentation as it relates to financial performance
- In charge of developing understanding of business and market dynamics for various portfolios and platforms, providing accounting and structural guidance as needed.
- Provide analysis by various business segments to support company strategy on business portfolio.
- Review periodic financial reports for trends and comparison to budget providing insight on track of near-term forecasts and plans.
- Tracking economic and industry indicators adjusting plans accordingly
- Work with Treasury on portfolio analysis for Syndication sales (including portfolio sales) and Asset Backed Securitizations to assess impact on global plan.
- Assist SVP Corporate Finance, North America with projects as needed
Other:
- Assist in documenting and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies and procedures in conformance with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, and federal, state and local tax jurisdictions for related activities
Risks:
- Decreased profitability, lost opportunity because of bad financial decisions
- Not accounting for impact of negative market forecasts that can lead to negative variances to plan.
- Non-Compliance with GAAP and SOX resulting in the inability of management to assert the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Current business operation is inefficient resulting in inability to meet customer’s requirements, management requirements, and incurring additional costs.
- Budget and Medium Term Plan is inaccurate, does not reflect management expectation or is not submitted to parent company on a timely basis.
Responsibility and Decision Making Authority:
- Act independently; Decision making within company policy
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
- Forecast Accuracy and Timeliness
- Compliance with GAAP and SOX Standards
- Provide support to business leaders in reaching plan: Revenues, OPEX, strategic initiatives
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage FPA VPs of each business platform and Financial Planning Director
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Financial planning & analysis
- Lease accounting and structuring
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong presentation & writing skills
- Strong skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications
- Detail oriented and attention to accuracy and thoroughness
- Good leadership and communication skills
Education and Experience:
- BS In Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- 15 years of experience in all facets of finance in the leasing industry
- Experience with multinational company a plus
- Working knowledge and familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley regulations, monitoring and financial reporting requirements
Licensing and Certification:
- CPA, a plus
Working Hours:
- Hours may vary and will require evening or weekend work depending on business needs and will require working overtime.

Travel:
- Occasional travel related to attendance at industry seminars and/or business leads
Physical Demands:
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment

- Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from one office location to another

The position is exempt and the salary will be between $260,000.00 and $290,000.00 with an opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience and education.
