What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Support Analyst position at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP?

Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, a mid-sized law firm with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington D.C., is seeking a Litigation Support Analyst to join our Los Angeles office.

This role sits at the dynamic intersection of law and data and is an excellent entry point for anyone building a career in legal technology or laying the groundwork for law school. You’ll work alongside attorneys and case teams to manage the full lifecycle of electronic discovery (eDiscovery) projects, one of the most technically sophisticated areas of modern legal practice. Through hands‑on exposure, you’ll gain deep, practical knowledge of how litigation is managed from the ground up at a major law firm — from initial case assessment and data collection through trial.

The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $115,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with legal teams and apply your technical skills to execute discovery projects, including the identification, preservation, collection, processing, and production of electronic data.
  • Build and run complex database queries and generate analytical reports.
  • Help troubleshoot litigation technologies and provide user support across the team.
  • Communicate project status, monitor deadlines, and help flag potential issues before they become problems.
  • Develop working relationships with external vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (CS) or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Please include an unofficial transcript and/or writing sample with your application.
  • Excellent client service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong management, organizational, communication and writing skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to efficiently gather, maintain and organize voluminous data/documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

The Firm offers a competitive salary, attractive benefits, and a pleasant and supportive environment.
