Description

• This full-time onsite position in Bronx, NY, involves providing support and advocacy for parents with children in foster care.
• The role requires engagement in various meetings and conferences to assist parents in planning effectively for their children.
• The advocate will work closely with foster care teams to support parental involvement and facilitate family reunification.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience as a parent whose children were in foster care, with services concluded at least 2 years ago.
• Ability to meet with families and support them during family visits.
• Capability to accompany parents to service providers and offer encouragement.
• Coordinate with foster care teams to expedite family discharge processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in parent advocate training is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and practice family engagement skills.
• Flexibility to work within community settings.
• Ability to maintain healthy boundaries and confidentiality.
• Basic computer literacy is desirable.
