Visiting Professor - Academic Excellence

Mitchell Hamline School of Law, a leader in pedagogical innovation dedicated to expanding access to high-quality legal education, seeks a Visiting Professor in our Academic Excellence Program. This position teaches academic skills and bar preparation courses with responsibility for one-on-one tutoring.

The position would begin January 1, 2026, and continue through July 2026 with a possible extension through the 2026-27 academic year and summer bar exam season.

We seek candidates who are passionate about teaching and tutoring and can demonstrate: (1) success in the classroom, (2) excitement to work with students outside the classroom, (3) energy toward our curriculum and programming, and (4) a willingness to contribute to the campus community.

The anticipated annual salary range is from $92k/year to $102k/year depending on qualifications and appointment. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance and 403(b) to eligible employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Distinguished academic credentials, including a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school or a foreign equivalent degree and at least two years of practice and/or academic support teaching experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with fostering or the ability to foster an inclusive and equity-centered teaching, learning, and departmental environment where all can thrive.
