Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks across manufacturing, facilities, and residential settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently or supervise maintenance activities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and efficiency of our facilities while utilizing a broad skill set including welding, electrical work, and plumbing. Candidates with experience in CMMS systems, schematics reading, and leadership are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on machinery and facilities to ensure optimal operation
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools
- Perform welding repairs and fabrication as needed for equipment or structural components
- Maintain electrical systems, including wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and PLC programming or repairs
- Oversee residential painting projects related to facility upkeep when required
- Supervise maintenance staff or contractors during projects to ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Utilize CMMS software for work order management, inventory tracking, and documentation of maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assist in supervising or training team members in proper maintenance procedures when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in welding and residential painting preferred
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting with schematics and use of ohmmeters is essential
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems is highly desirable
- Experience with CMMS systems for maintenance management is a plus
- Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately
- Supervising or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of safety standards related to industrial maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks effectively
