Posting Description
REGISTERED NURSE, Center for Clinical & Translational Research, will care and coordinate all clinical research activities with moderate supervision; adhere and fidelity to an IRB approved protocol; participate in the informed consent process of study subjects; coordinate protocol related research procedures, study visits, and follow-up care; acquire research related measurements when needed; schedule participant appointments at MIT and MIT partner sites across multiple departments; data collection per protocol and Center needs; screen, recruit and enroll patients/research participants; organize data input into clinical database systems (redcap); maintain study source documents; monitor and care for subject during data collection; maintain competency in research nursing related clinical activities (including but not limited to : phlebotomy, IV administration, lab processing, injections, study medication administration etc.); report any adverse events to Investigator and COUHES as appropriate; understand good clinical practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance; comply with Institutional policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines; and comply with federal, state, and sponsor policies.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; active and current Massachusetts RN License; research experience and/or transferable skills from other nursing and/or human research experience; completion of CITI Training for the Protection of Human Subjects and Good Clinical Practice within 1 month of hire; review of the IACRN/ANA Clinical Research Nursing Standards of Practice within 1 month of hire; BLS certified ( ACLS preferred); completion of relevant MIT EHS trainings; effective writing and communication skills and ability to work with a diverse group of Clinical, Engineering, and administratively based individuals. PREFERRED: Familiar with REDCap data base or willing to complete REDCap orientation/tutorials and/or other data base and/or EMR as becomes available.
