Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management (TIES) Group
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, MA, invites applications for faculty positions in the Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management (TIES) Group, starting July 1, 2026, or as soon thereafter as possible. We seek candidates whose research focuses on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and/or Strategy.
We welcome applications from individuals eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor or as Associate Professor without tenure.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate, graduate, and executive-level courses in the field of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy
- Conducting high-quality research in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy
The MIT Sloan TIES Group values scholarly excellence, doctoral training, and a collegial, multi-disciplinary environment. Faculty collaborate extensively within Sloan, across MIT, and with the broader Cambridge academic community. More about the group here. The pay range for a 9-month academic appointment at the entry-level Assistant Professor rank (excluding summer salary): $225,000 – $254,000. The pay offered to a selected candidate during hiring will be based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience and education/training, internal peer equity, and applicable legal requirements. These factors impact where an individual’s pay falls within a range. Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check, including verifying any finding of misconduct (or pending investigation) from prior employers.
Candidates must possess a PhD in Economics, Sociology, Management, or other relevant social science disciplines by the start of employment.
