Digital Content Producer MIT Sloan Management Review (sloanreview.mit.edu) is seeking an experienced part-time (20-25 hours per week) digital content producer to join its dynamic publishing team. This remote contract position provides an opportunity to work with a digital publishing team that strives for excellence and high-quality experiences for our readers. We ask that the producer work East Coast hours.Reporting to the senior managing editor and working closely with the associate director of digital and event production, the digital content producer will assist in formatting content for our WordPress-based website (sloanreview.mit.edu), including daily editorial articles and quarterly magazine articles, twice-monthly webinars and videos, and new products; creating and maintaining store entries; and assisting in PDF generation, among other production-oriented duties.We expect the candidate to be detailed-oriented, self-directed, quality-focused, highly communicative, inherently curious, and able to multitask with impeccable accuracy.This is a deadline-driven role with high-quality expectations. The right person for this role is a fast learner, technically astute, nimble, and calm under pressure.Our preference is for someone experienced in digital publishing. The ideal candidate will be an editorially focused individual with a technical nature. This not an editing or writing position, but if you can spot an error or notice a missing piece of metadata, we want to hear from you!Projects can include:Advancing content through the digital production process: Convert InDesign XML layouts and Word documents into HTML onto our WordPress platform according to SMR HTML markup and design standards; populate WP meta boxes; and flag missing content/assets and quality issues.Adding content to our store.Prepping content for quarterly online issue launches.Supporting mobile app production.Supporting webinar and virtual event programs.Adding to and enriching our documentation hub.Remediating PDFs for accessibility.Responsibilities:Gain an understanding of the SMR digital style and markup conventions.Track task assignments and communicate status using Asana.Collaborate with other team members as necessary, including editors, designers, and other producers.Monitor Slack and Asana for relevant communication.Work with other content producers to take on work during crunch times, vacations, etc.Attend required meetings via Zoom.Requirements:5 years’ experience with a CMS (WordPress preferred)3 years’ experience with HTML/CSSProficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), with a working knowledge of Adobe file managementProficiency with Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets)Experience using Asana, Dropbox, Slack, or similar project management, file storage, and communication toolsProficiency with both Mac and Windows operating systems a plus. Ability to collaborate across operating systems efficiently a must.Experience with other technologies, including HubSpot, Notion, BigMarker a plusAll candidates will be asked to complete a virtual skill test (60 minutes or less).
