The Youth Development Center Receptionist delivers excellent service to licensed childcare program children, parents and potential participants. They help to assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures at the location entrance.

- Greets each participant, making them feel welcome. Learns and uses participant names. Builds relationships with participants; helps participants and parents connect with the YMCA.
- Routes phone calls to appropriate extensions as needed.
- Assures the security of the facility so that only authorized individuals gain access. Guarantees all individuals entering the facility enter a valid access code or signs in as a guest. Checks identification and cross references identity with individuals listed as a person authorized to pick up.
- Ensures enrollment, payment, and credit refund information received at the front desk is provided to the Site Director.
- Provides clerical support to childcare center management and staff and may assist with other duties as needed.
- May assist with providing childcare in classrooms as needed to assure adult/child ratio requirements are met.
Full Time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-6:00 pm

Qualifications:We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Previous receptionist, administrative assistant, customer service, or other related experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills required. Ability to organize, prioritize, manage time, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required. Basic knowledge of computers required. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community required. Ability to maintain confidentiality required. CPR & First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training courses must be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA.
