What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator position at Missouri Fabricators?
Are you a welder that is looking for local, steady year round work, with competitive pay? This position is responsible for all assigned work in the welding and fabrication shop. This job is critical to the success of the overall mission to deliver a quality product and exceed our client’s expectations. This person must be able to work in a face-paced environment and be adaptable to change.
Essential Duties:
- Work safely and cleanly at all times.
- Perform fabrication work in accordance with customer contract requirements and specifications.
- Fit-up and welding for each customer and code applicable to each contract.
- Operate a cutting torch.
- Operate automated welding equipment.
- Operate overhead cranes and perform safe and efficient lifts of materials.
- Keep track of daily sessions per job by entering allocation of time, consumables and department status.
- Perform inspection and quality control review on work product to conform within specifications.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Be a team player.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications/Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to measure torch and placement within dimensional tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret welding procedure specifications.
- Ability to read measurements and perform precise measurement.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Fabrication experience a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb and crawl over and under fabricated materials.
- Work extensive hours in a non-climate controlled environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
