Position Overview
The Shop Foreman is responsible for leading daily operations in our rebar fabrication shop. This role is not a desk job—you will be on the floor, actively managing a team of 7 employees, ensuring production stays on schedule, maintaining quality standards, and driving efficiency across all operations.
You will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and serve as the key link between scheduling/planning and execution on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of 7 shop employees
- Maintain daily production flow to meet deadlines and delivery schedules
- Ensure all work meets quality standards before leaving the shop
- Monitor productivity and keep team members on task throughout the day
- Proactively identify issues and solve problems before they impact production
- Communicate clearly with leadership regarding progress, delays, or challenges
- Coordinate workflow between machines to maximize efficiency
- Float between stations—hands-on involvement with:
- - Rebar bending machines (shearlines, table benders, etc.)- Forklift operations (feeding/pulling material, staging jobs)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Build team morale and hold employees accountable to performance expectationsWhat We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading crews (5–10 people) in a production, construction, or industrial environment
- Strong leadership presence—someone people respect and follow
- Highly proactive mindset—you get ahead of problems, not react to them
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple moving parts at once
- Clear communicator who can work effectively with both shop employees and leadership
- Hands-on work ethic—you’re willing to jump in wherever needed
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with rebar fabrication equipment (shearlines, table benders, etc.)
- Forklift experience
- Background in steel, construction materials, or manufacturing environments
