Job Description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dependable individual to join our team as a Distillery Tour Guide / Retail Associate at our LeClaire location. This role combines guest experience, storytelling, retail sales, and hospitality. You’ll guide guests through the distillery, educate them on our grain-to-glass process, and help turn that experience into product sales and lasting customer relationships. Experience is not required, but we do expect a strong commitment to the following:

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and delivering exceptional customer experiences with energy and professionalism.
• Leading guided tours of the distillery in an engaging, informative, and entertaining way.
• Sharing the story of Mississippi River Distilling Company, our family values, and our grain-to-glass process.
• Mastering our full product lineup and confidently recommending spirits, cocktails, gifts, and merchandise.
• Driving retail sales through product knowledge, upselling, and genuine customer connection.
• Assisting guests with tastings and helping them make informed purchasing decisions.
• Promoting bottles, merchandise, events, memberships, and special releases.
• Operating the retail register and handling cash/card transactions accurately.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting retail and guest environment.
• Restocking shelves, merchandising displays, and keeping products presentation-ready.
• Following company procedures, compliance standards, and safety protocols.
• Accepting feedback with a willingness to learn, improve, and grow.
• Demonstrating responsibility, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required—we provide comprehensive training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups and engaging with guests of all backgrounds.
• Sales-minded personality with confidence recommending products and closing purchases.
• Passion for hospitality, storytelling, and customer service.
• Interest in spirits and enthusiasm for learning the distilling process.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
• Must meet legal drinking age requirements.
• Positive attitude and team-player mentality.
• Weekend availability.

• A competitive starting wage of $9 per hour with the potential to advance to $14 per hour based on performance.
